Sylvan O. Stewart 83, of Crooked River Ranch, passed from earth to his eternal home in Heaven on Oct. 2, 2019. He was born to Lon and Mildred Stewart in Nehalem, Oregon on July 20, 1936. He and his beautiful wife raised their family and lived in Canby, Oregon for over 30 years. He leaves behind his five younger sisters, Elva, Ida, Connie, Nella and Mona. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lenora Stewart. He was a devoted father of Gordon Stewart of Kirkland, Washington and Donna Stewart of Portland, Oregon. Sylvan had 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Sylvan served this country that he loved, honorably in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 24 years as a truck driver hauling hazardous chemicals. He wanted to retire early so that he and Lenora could do some real travel together, so they did! They moved to Crooked River Ranch in Central Oregon and traveled untold thousands of miles around the US pulling a fifth wheel travel trailer and seeing all that they could.
Services will be held at Smith Rock Community Church in Terrebonne Oregon on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you consider a donation to www2.heart.org or www.semperfifund.org or www.partnersbend.org
