Rockaway Beach on the 4th of July

Rockaway Beach will be the only community in Tillamook County to have an official fireworks show this year.

The Fourth of July at Rockaway Beach is one of the most spectacular celebrations on the Oregon Coast, full of day-to-night activities. The old-fashioned Rockaway Beach Independence Day parade begins at 11 a.m. This year’s theme is “Sand, Sea & Liberty.”

After the parade, a variety of activities are available to keep the spirits going until the firework show around 10 p.m. Head to Phyllis City Park on 2nd Street for the annual Dachshund race and watch the dogs race in the obstacle course.

The Rockaway Lioness bake and plant sale will also be available at that time. Homemade baked goods will be available to purchase. This is a great way to support the community. Be sure to check out the variety of plants you can add to your garden or home.

The Rockaway Lions Club will be hosting a Fun Day at the Beach at 1 p.m. with games, races, a treasure hunt, and hot dogs. You can purchase your own sparklers and fireworks from the Rockaway Lions, Chamber of Commerce, or the Neah-Kah-Nie speech team.

At dusk, head to the Rockaway Beach Wayside or find a spot on the beach for the fireworks display. When it gets dark, around 10 p.m., the Rockaway Beach Volunteer Fire Department will launch their fireworks extravaganza.
