The Hoffman Center for the Arts in Manzanita will offer “Luminous Alcohol Ink Creations” a two-day workshop led by Margaret-Rose de Haas van Dorsser Saturday-Sunday, July 20-21, for students 18 and older.
This two-day workshop covers both basic and advanced alcohol painting techniques. The first three hours will review the basics of using alcohol inks. The remainder of the workshop (nine hours) will present several new techniques including applications for use on ceramic tile, Yupo paper, and resin-based coasters. Margaret-Rose will demonstrate each type of technique and work individually with students throughout the workshop.
Artistry is native to Margaret-Rose de Haas van Dorsser. It comes out in all her lifetime activities: languages, crafts, dancing, piano, crochet and knitting, sewing, garden design, sculpture, home decorating and art.
During her childhood in Brussels, Belgium, she began drawing and painting with pencil and oil, enamored and influenced by the impressionists. Margaret has enjoyed instruction from a variety of teachers, but is mostly self-taught.
Coming to the United States at seventeen, she has added acrylics, colored pencil and pen, and most recently alcohol ink to her media repertoire. Her vibrant images are often life-like. Many pieces of her work will be on display at this advanced workshop in July.
Margaret-Rose is excited to return to the Hoffman Center to offer a second and expanded opportunity for people to learn about the astonishing fluid beauty of this medium.
