Authorities are investigating after two people were found dead from gunshot wounds.
This past Thursday, March 28, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Whaler’s Rest RV & Camping Resort in South Beach, Oregon to conduct a welfare check on two guests staying in the park. Whaler’s Rest Staff reported that the pair had not been seen for several days.
The deputies reportedly found a dead man with an apparent gunshot wound and a dead woman with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The dead were identified as Charles W. Young, 87, and Carla C. Gustafson, 64, both of Tillamook.
A statement from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Gustafson killed Young before taking her own life. The statement also said Young and Gustafson were family members.
The motive for the shooting was reportedly unclear and the investigation was ongoing.
