Traffic was stalled and power lines were down in the Manzanita area earlier today.
According to Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescues spokesperson, Highway 101 in North Tillamook County was blocked to through traffic around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10. Travel was stopped from the Manzanita Junction to the Shell station due to a tree that knocked down power lines.
Emergency crews responded along with crews from Tillamook PUD. A semi driver and passenger were reportedly trapped and awaiting the power to be shut off.
When the tree took out the power pole, the power lines fell across the road and on the semi truck, trapping the passengers.
