Seaside police seek assistance after alleged assault

Police are asking for the public’s assistance regarding an alleged assault in Seaside.

At around 3:18 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, Seaside Dispatch received a call regarding an alleged assault near the intersection of Avenue K and South Columbia Street in Seaside.

When police arrived on scene they discovered 49-year-old Travis Todd of Forest Grove with serious assault injuries, according to a statement from the City of Seaside.

Todd was taken to a local hospital and later to a Portland-area hospital, where he remains in serious condition, according to the City’s statement.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen Todd sometime after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29. Investigators believe he may have been drinking, possibly in local bars, and appears to have been on the Seaside beach and near the Promenade sometime before the alleged assault occurred. Todd had reportedly checked into a downtown oceanfront hotel earlier that day.
