The Hoffman Center for the Arts Gallery in Manzanita will host “Nature: Far and Near,” a show featuring works by Pam Greene and Bonnie Kost, during the month of April.
The galley will be open Fridays through Sundays, from 1 to 5 p.m. each day, beginning April 5.
A Portland resident since 1988, and Neahkahnie resident since 2002, Greene paints large dynamic vistas of Oregon’s scenic splendors.
As a former botanist and perpetual nature enthusiast, her favorite inspirations are the Sitka spruce, cedars, and waves of the Oregon coast, and Central Oregon’s high desert junipers, sagebrush, Ponderosa pines and buttes.
Manzanita resident Kost says her botanical watercolors reveal the organization and realism of the world she paints and each painting reflects the joy she finds in her subjects.
“Each floral painting conveys its botanical structure, from the stem to the stamen, capturing its intricate folds, variegated colors, and delicate veining on its leaves.”
The Hoffman Gallery is free and open to the public.
