The vehicle of a Portland man who was reported missing was found in Manzanita this past week, triggering a search and rescue effort that has been unsuccessful so far.
The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said Paul G. Jensen, last seen on Thursday, Jan. 24, has ties to northern Tillamook County. The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team has been working closely with the Manzanita Police Department to locate Jensen.
Jensen was driving a silver Toyota Tacoma before he disappeared. Posts on social media indicated that 52-year-old Jensen’s vehicle was found at the beach house of a friend who said Jensen planned to hike Oswald Park towards Cape Falcon and would return by afternoon on Friday, Jan. 25.
A search that immediately followed the discovery of Jensen’s vehicle was reportedly fruitless. He was reported missing to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 26 by family members.
TCSO issued a statement of Feb. 1 saying the search for Jensen would remain active throughout the week. Tillamook County Search and Rescue is being assisted with the search by the Mt. Wave Search and Rescue Team and the Manzanita Police Department.
“Our search and rescue team has been assisting Manzanita Police Department with the search for Mr. Jensen since Sunday. At this time all efforts to locate Mr. Jensen have been unsuccessful, however, we will continue to deploy SAR teams and resources to the area in an effort to locate him”, said Lt. James Horton, TCSO Criminal Division commander.
If anyone has information on the current whereabouts of Jensen they are encouraged to contact the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office at 503-815-3330 or Tillamook 911 at 503-815-1911.
