Pirates claim numerous Northwest all-league awards


In a year filled with many highlights and moments the Neah-Kah-Nie Pirates will remember forever, the basketball players of Tillamook County claimed a whole lot of post-season awards.
Leading the way for the Pirates was senior Josh Elinsky, who touted a first team all-league selection. Elinsky became one of the best offensive players in the league this season, scoring in double figures in every game according to his coach, and highlighted with a 31 point outburst in the season opener against Waldport.
The lone hooper earning second team all-league honors was senior Alicia Cruz-Lilly. Senior Chase Dorsey made the third team all-league list in his final season with the Pirates.
Sophomore Kyla Huntley and senior Avery Smith were all-league honorable mentions for the girls and senior A.J. Pieper was named an honorable mention for the Pirate boys.
Making the cut for defensive all-league were a pair of Pirates including Avery Smith for the girls and junior Eric Lambert for the boys.
Additionally, the Lady Pirates were awarded the sportsmanship honor.
