Croswalk sign smashed in Rockaway Beach


Police are looking for the driver who hit a crosswalk sign in Rockaway Beach.

Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to the intersection of Highway 101 and Washington Street in Rockaway Beach at around 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 27. Troopers found a crosswalk sign that was destroyed by a vehicle.

According to a statement from OSP, Rockaway Beach public works values the sign at between $5,000-$10,000.

Troopers found and collected broken pieces of the car. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer, dark silver or charcoal gray with a black grill.
