RBPD nab thieves who stole $15,000 worth of items in Rockaway Beach

Nicholas Beets (left) and Kaitlyn Zdep (right) were arrested of burglary charges.

On Thursday Dec. 27, 2018 the Rockaway Beach Police Department, assisted by the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Nicholas Beets and Kaitlyn Zdep on charges of Burglary in the First Degree and Theft in the First Degree.
The investigation began in July when the owner of a home in Rockaway Beach reported their house had been broken into with over $15,000 worth of items stolen. The stolen property varied from tools and recreational gear to door knobs, stove burners and light switch cover plates. Some of the property has been recovered, which led investigators to Beets and Zdep.
After the arrest, Zdep was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. Both parties were lodged in the Tillamook County Jail.
Beets had been previously arrested in connection with this case in late November in Rockaway Beach. During that contact he was found to be in possession of approximately seven grams of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm.
