Pirates race around Rockaway

The conditions for the Fred Berkey Invitational at Camp Magruder were less than ideal, but there was not any complaining going on by any of the teams at the annual cross country meet.
The Lady Pirates had a strong showing taking second place as a team with two top ten finishers.
Junior Karissa Hadermann placed third with a time of 21:37.34 and freshmen Jordan White was right behind her in fourth, with a time of 21:47.91.
“It was really fun to watch some of the other kids in the county compete well,” Tillamook coach and meet organizer Patrick Zweifel said of the Pirates. “I’m envious of some of the Neah-Kah-Nie girls and I wish them the best of luck as they finish up the season and head into state.”
For the Pirate boys, junior Tyler Ernst just missed out on a top ten finish, placing 12 with a time of 19:35.82. Freshmen Matthew Erickson was the next Pirate finisher with a time of 22:24.70 placing him in the top 50 out of the 116 runners in the race.
