NCRD levy vital to community

I want to encourage everyone to vote on November 6 for the renewable tax levy for North County Recreation District (“NCRD”). NCRD is a vital hub providing activities for the entire Nehalem Bay community, from teaching young children to swim, engaging children of all ages in a variety of summer camps and year-round educational and sports programs, offering activities for seniors such as Group Strength and water yoga classes, and presenting theater, music, and other cultural events at the Per-forming Arts Center. My wife and I regularly do water walking, which has been a blessing for our aging knees. We also love being entertained by the Riverbend Players and the Trashion Show in the Perform-ing Arts Center. The Nehalem Bay community is infinitely richer because of NCRD.
The tax levy provides about 33% of NCRD’s funding, and the levy goes to support all of NCRD’s programs, in addition to daily operations and maintenance. The levy will not be used to build the new pool. Renewing the levy will not increase taxes for anyone. By voting for the renewable levy, we will enable NCRD to continue making life better for everyone in the community. I urge everyone to vote yes on November 6.
