The festival has become a unique opportunity to experience the Oregon Coast and meet other like-minded animal lovers. The 2018 Muttzanita Festival is packed full with dog and human contests and activities such as pet demonstrations, a variety of vender booths with gourmet dog biscuits, an animal costume contest and a pet parade down the Main Street.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. The festival is open to well-behaved dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, who are at least six months old and are on a short leash at all times. There will also be plenty of activities for those who do not have a pet either, such as contest judging.

You will also be able to purchase a t-shirt in support of the fundraising efforts for Tillamook County Animal Aid. At the event, you will get a chance to pick up tricks and ideas from local dog trainers, learn how to get your dog involved in becoming a therapy dog and give a second chance to one of the shelter pets if you are looking for your forever friend.

Manzanita has plenty of pet friendly inns, hotels, bed and breakfasts or homes available to rent for the weekend. Do not forget to bid on items at the silent auction as all processed will go directly to Tillamook County Animal Aid in assisting with medical expenses for the rescues.
