A weekly SMART Recovery meeting will be held at the North County Recreation District every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Riverbend Room.
SMART Recovery is a non-religion based self help program that teaches empowering techniques to aid recovery from any addictive behavior (alcohol, drugs, food, work, exercise, etc.).
SMART believes that people are not powerless to overcome their addictive behaviors and uses scientifically proven methods to overcome these behaviors.Cross talk amongst group members is encouraged to create a supportive environment.
There is no charge for the classes but donations are accepted as SMART is a non-profit organization and facilitators are not paid for their time. The meeting facilitator is a healthcare professional with a background in pharmacology, natural healing techniques, mind-body medicine and exercise physiology.
