Nehalem River rescue

At approx. 9:30 a.m. Sat. morning, Nehalem Bay Fire and Rescue and Tillamook ambulance was called to a report of a capsized boat with two persons in the water, in the Nehalem river at the foot of Tohl Ave. in Nehalem. The boat was approx. 500 yards from shore. When they arrived, there was a woman on shore with the man still in the water. The woman had swam to shore and found Manzanita police Officer John Garcia who the called it in. The man and the boat was transported the the Nehalem Bay State Park boat ramp. Both are reported to be in good condition. – Hal McMahan
