The Cannon Beach Chorus, under the direction of Dr. John Buehler, will present seasonal concerts entitled Christmas In Many Lands, featuring pieces from various countries worldwide.
The 60-voice chorus is set to perform the major work Gloria by British composer/arranger, John Rutter, along with three carols from Venezuela; a Nigerian Christmas song entitled Betelehemu; the French carol, Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella; two Spanish Christmas songs, A La Nanita Nana and Esta Noche; Franz Grüber’s Stille Nacht; a John Rutter arrangement of We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and the ever-popular Peace, Peace.
The chorus has rehearsed every Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 beginning in September and will present three separate concerts in area communities this year.
The first performance will be in Warrenton at the Christian Church, 1376 SE Anchor Ave. at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016.
Their second appearance will occur in Nehalem at the North Coast Recreation District Building on east 9th street on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The entire proceeds of the Nehalem concert will be donated to the Manzanita Tornado Clean-Up Fund.
Their final concert will be presented in Cannon Beach at the Community Church, 132 E. Washington on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
At each concert the chorus members host an intermission reception at which audience members may interact with the performers while enjoying homemade Christmas treats. Ticket price for each concert is $10 with students under the age of 16 admitted free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 503-436-0378.

The chorus awards annually a vocal scholarship to students continuing to sing at the collegiate level and is a music education advocate for the high school choral programs in the area.
