Pirates sail to Gaston for finale

nkn-piratesVernonia handed Neah-Kah-Nie a 3-0 loss in Monday’s rescheduled game in Rockaway Beach. The game had been scheduled for Saturday before it was moved because of weather.

The Loggers won 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.

The Pirates are on the road again Wednesday night, playing undefeated Gaston at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Greyhounds are undefeated in Northwest League play with an 11-0 record and are ranked fifth. They have a 13-4 season record.

Neah-Kah-Nie is going into the game with a 1-10 league record and a 1-14 season mark.

The battle with Gaston is the season finale for the Pirates.

Scappoose, Seaside on the road

Scappoose is making the long trek to La Grande in Eastern Oregon to face the Tigers, the second-plseaside-hsace team from the Greater Oregon League.

Seaside will be traveling to Estacada for its play-in game.

The eight winners of the play-in games will move on to face the automatic qualifiers  for round one, with the eight victors then moving to the state tournament in Forest Grove.
