The Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay (EVC) will host a Red Cross shelter training class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the North County Recreation District (NCRD) building in Nehalem on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Using the new EVC task cards, students will study the NCRD shelter layout and practice setting it up as would be done in an actual emergency, organizers said.
Officials added the instruction will be appropriate for people new to shelter operations, as well as those with some experience but needing a refresher course. The training will also help anyone interested in becoming a Red Cross volunteer learn more about what is involved.
Advanced registration is required. Contact EVC President Linda Kozlowski at email@example.com.
