• Emerald Necklace Tour – 10 a.m. at Nehalem Estuary on Tohl Rd. Lower Nehalem Community Trust stewardship coordinator, Max Broderick, leads a tour of conservation on north edge of the Nehalem Estuary, a large protected nature sanctuary for wildlife, native trees and plants. View the wetlands and riparian habitats of Sitka Wetlands, Cedar Creek and the new Elk Meadows Park. No bathroom facilities; wear sturdy shoes or rubber/hiking boots and bring drinking water and binoculars if you have them.
• Multi-layer Paper Cutting Class – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hoffman Center for the Arts, 594 Laneda Ave. in Manzanita. Led by artist David Friedman of Portland, students will use paper cutting tools to create delicate, intricate and unique artwork. Tuition is $55. A $35 materials fee should be paid directly to the instructor on the day of the class.
