The annual North Tillamook Library Book Sale was again a success this Memorial Day weekend. We raised almost $6,755 from the sale of used books and audiovisual materials, and almost $200 from donations.
The sale is a community effort. Volunteers spend time all year round sorting and pricing the books. One hundred volunteers spent time over the holiday weekend setting up for the sale, conducting the sale, and returning the sale sites to normal.
I want to thank the Pine Grove Community House and the Hoffman Center for the Arts for the use of their facilities and tables for the sale. Also thanks to the Nehalem Valley Historical Society, which provided tables and a bookcase to display materials.
A successful sale is vital to maintaining the North Tillamook Branch Library facility. Thanks to all the people who work on the sale year long, who worked that weekend, and the several hundreds of people who purchased materials. Without all of you the sale would not be the successful community project that it is.
