Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church pastor retires

Rev. Jody Felton’s last Sunday at Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church will be June 19, 2016. Pastor Jody is scheduled to retire from the ministry July 1 and will be settling in Monmouth, Oregon.

Pastor Jody has had a busy five years serving with the Nehalem Bay UMC and surrounding community. During that time, she took a trip to Kenya followed by welcoming the community to the Church for a dinner featuring dishes prepared from recipes she brought back. She was also pastor at Nehalem Bay UMC during the 100th anniversary celebration of the Church in 2012.

Under her guidance the Church has welcomed the community through Senior Meals on Tuesday and Thursday, Vacation Bible School during Christmas school break to name a few. The latest addition to Nehalem Bay UMC’s community outreach was the opening of the Warm Welcome center in the Church basement where travelers as well as members of the local community can come to visit, share a cup of coffee or tea, play games, knit or just rest for awhile.

The congregation of Nehalem Bay UMC would like to extend an invitation to the community to join them for Pastor Jody’s last sermon on June 19. Service starts at 11 a.m.
