Pirates find gold
Neah-Kah-Nie’s Katie Clifford won the long jump with a 15 feet, 11.5-inch effort.
Clifford still has the best mark in the district in the long jump and is third among 2A leapers in the state with her season-best mark of 16 feet, three inches.
In the shot put, it was Cheyenne Spliethof getting the win with a 33-1.25 effort.
It was a new personal record by almost four feet for the junior. Her previous best was 29 feet, 5.25 inches.
The throw put her 10th in the 2A among shotputters, and only a few inches shy of
being as high as fifth.
Max Halverson cleared 5 feet, six inches, but so did two Vernonia high jumpers. Halverson
took second on misses.
