Calling all anglers, get out your waders and seafood bibs! Tillamook Estuaries Partnership invites you to its 13th annual fundraiser, Bounty on the Bay, beginning with an Italian pasta dinner and fishing tips & tricks workshop presented by one our incredible guides, Andy Schneider, Friday, June 3rd followed by our fishing tournament kicking off bright and early on Saturday, June 4th! Register to fish with one of our guides or as your own captain, and enjoy a World-Class seafood feast, silent auction, and award ceremony that highlights the event Saturday evening, June 4th. This year’s Silent Auction is shaping up to be our best one yet with a diversity of bid items ranging from 2-units of high quality kiln-dried douglas fir (for all of you builders out there) to a spa retreat in Nehalem; awesome fishing gear to amazing photos from local photographers; dining certificates to regional brews. They are yours for the taking! This year, we are pleased to present Jim Martin, former ODFW Chief of Fisheries, as our guest speaker. He will be sharing his experience and knowledge of issues facing our bays. We will also be honoring Liane Welch, Tillamook County Public Works Director, with the Jim Mundell Environmental Stewardship Award for her commitment to partnerships and looking for win-win solutions to improving fish passage and our roads. The funds raised at this event support education, restoration and conservation activities in Tillamook County’s estuaries and watersheds.
Estuaries are where it all begins for these ‘springers’ and this weekend event highlights the best Tillamook Bay has to offer: amazing scenery, humongous fish, great local food, and jovial company. Many thanks go out to our Sponsors: Dick’s Sporting Goods, Garibaldi House Inn and Suites (the official hotel for Bounty on Bay), Northwest Hardwoods, Pacific Seafood, KTIL Family of Radio Stations, Trinidad Tackle, and Hook, Line, and Sinker for helping make this event possible!! We also want to thank the guides who are donating their time and expertise: David Johnson, Dave Harris, Pat Abel, Andy Schneider, Ted Teufel, Curt Hedges, Greg Hublou, Jon Winter and Chris Vertopoulos. This action-packed fundraiser supports TEP’s efforts to implement the Tillamook Bay Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP).
The CCMP identifies actions that restore water quality, enhance degraded habitats, reduce sedimentation and lessen the impacts of coastal flooding—all of which means more fish and wildlife.
Registration is open and necessary for all facets of the event. Whether you are interested in fishing or just joining us for one of the dinners, we have something for everyone. Additionally, Garibaldi House Inn and Suites, the official hotel of Bounty on the Bay, is offering discounted rates for Friday and Saturday night stays if you mention Bounty on the Bay.
Register now! Registration forms are available online by going to www.tbnep.org or, to obtain more information regarding the event, contact Lisa Phipps by phone at (503) 322-2222 or by email at email@example.com .
