Hearing loss is a serious matter that affects more than just the person experiencing it and at Tillamook Hearing Aid Center Jane Strampher and DL Stopper have the experience and state-of-the-art equipment, services and products to help you when your hearing is not what it used to be.

Hearing loss can affect your ability to process information, participate in social gatherings and enjoy life. If left untreated, according to Strampher, hearing loss can lead to other cognitive diseases like dementia or Alzheimer’s.
“At Tillamook Hearing Aid Center, we believe that everyone should be able to live life to the fullest,” Strampher said. “We have the expertise and resources to provide an unsurpassed level of comprehensive hearing care and education to those affected by hearing loss.” That means more than just selling someone a hearing aid; Strampher and Stopper believe in education and keeping patients and their families informed about the latest advances in technology. “It’s not about hearing loss,” Stopper said. “It’s about hearing gain, it’s about improving your life and improving your brain function.”
Both Strampher and Stopper received their education in Washington, which has some of the strictest requirements in the business. They both earned their degrees in Hearing Instrument Science, attended an apprenticeship program and passed state examinations in their field.
“Through our experience, hearing is the sense that is the most underrated and untreated,” Stopper said. “A person with untreated hearing loss is five times more likely to end up with dementia or Alzheimer’s, balance disorders and social problems.”
At Tillamook Hearing Aid Center, Strampher and Stopper focus on an informative and hassle-free journey towards improved hearing. They are committed to addressing every aspect of hearing health for their patients and their families.
“By recognizing the difficulties of leading a hearing-impaired life, individuals and their families can benefit from our counseling and exceptional customer service,” Stopper said. “People with hearing loss can become depressed and withdrawn, people who have given up will start communicating again and turn those conditions around — they start to feel better.”
Stopper said they work with a lot of people in the farming community, logging industry and fishing business. But some still believe there is nothing they can do or if they already have hearing-loss, they don’t believe they need to wear hearing protection while on-the-job.
“I hear people say all the time, ‘I don’t need to wear hearing protection because I already have bad hearing,”’ Strampher said. “That’s not true so, we carry a large selection of hearing protection equipment available for many needs.”
Stopper and Strampher purchased Tillamook Hearing Aid Center in 2013, they also have a center in Lincoln City. Stopper joked that they hear all the time how people appreciate that they are carrying the business forward in Tillamook and on the Coast. It’s been around since 1968 in Tillamook. “People still come in and ask, ‘is the community supporting you because we really need you to stay around,”’ Stopper said. They moved into their new location in January of 2014 in the Roby’s Complex on the corner of 12th Street and Main Avenue in Tillamook.
Both Strampher and Stopper are licensed in Washington and Oregon, they will help you throughout your life from your initial visit, to determining the level of hearing-loss you suffer from to the proper treatment and equipment you will need as well as ongoing care and retesting when needed. They also offer pricing and plans to meet all budgets, so there is no reason to not enjoy all the benefits of hearing through their expert counseling, services and products.
Before purchasing your hearing instruments, Strampher and Stopper will review the benefits and limitations of an amplification solution. Learning to adjust to your hearing aid will take patience but their helpful staff will do their best to fully inform you about the realistic expectations that accompany hearing amplification.
During your scheduled follow-up appointment, Stopper and Strampher will demonstrate how your new hearing instrument is helping you hear better. They also make sure that you are comfortable and satisfied with your customized hearing aids. If they need adjusted, they will help you with that too.
They strive to make sure each step in your search for better hearing is pleasant, informative, and worry-free.
The entire staff at Tillamook Hearing Aid Center is committed to providing the highest level of service and ensuring your comfort and satisfaction on your journey towards improved hearing.
