The Warm Welcome Daytime Drop-In Center

The Warm Welcome Daytime Drop-In Center in Nehalem was a “warm” location for the In Stitches sewing group of the Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church. Ladies (or gentlemen) who love to knit, crochet, needlepoint or any other hand craft hobby, get together once a month to work on projects and get caught up on what’s going on in the lives of the folks in the group.
There were eight ladies in attendance. Many worked on Prayer Shawls that are given to shut ins or folks in the hospital or recovering at home. The shawls are blessed and prayed over during the making of them and also during a Sunday morning worship service. The shawls carry the prayers of the makers and the entire congregation and are a comfort to the ones who receive them as they wrap themselves in prayers.
The Warm Welcome Center was the perfect place for the group as it is intended to be a warm and homey place to gather. We encourage travelers, homeless and anyone in the community to stop by for a cup of coffee and a snack on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., located in the Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church basement on 10th Street just off Hwy 101.
