The International Police Museum, the newest attraction for locals and tourists in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, has officially gotten the boot. Tossed out? No. Ed Wortman, the executive director of the museum, recently put on display the museum’s newest acquisition – an “Oregon Boot”, more properly known as the Gardner Shackle. The boot was created by J. C Gardner, the warden of the Oregon State Penitentiary in 1866. Wortman invites everyone to the museum to see not only the “Oregon Boot”, but the other rotating exhibits offered by the museum, located next to the Rockaway Beach Police Department on Highway 101.
