A Portland man was killed on Highway 26 when a tree fell on his car.
According to Oregon State Police Trooper Lewis Topinka, the man was driving west on Highway 26 at about 6 p.m., Mar. 9, when an alder tree fell across the roadway. Killed was Nicholas JP Harris, 37. The tree came down on the 2008 Toyota FJC he was driving. He suffered fatal injuries and was deceased at the scene.
The accident happened in Clatsop County about five miles east of the intersection between Highway 26 and Highway 101 and about 10 miles south of Seaside.
