Saturday, May 14, will be the 21st local, and 24th national, annual food drive by letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America, and all towns in Tillamook County. This is the largest one-day food drive in the world!
Tillamook County postal patrons can easily participate in the drive. If you receive street or home deliveries, leave your donations in, or on your mailbox before the letter carrier arrives on Saturday, May 14. If you have a Post Office Box, bring your donations to your local post office lobby, and drop them off in the designated spot.
All items are collected and distributed locally by the Oregon Food Bank – Tillamook County Services Network. For safety reasons, please donate ONLY non-perishable items (no home-made, frozen/refrigerated, or any other perishable items). Glass items are welcome. Please bag them in a separate bag from other donations. Personal care items are welcome as well!
Over the last twenty years, Tillamook County has donated 190,025 pounds. As of 2010, the nationwide total has passed the one billion pound mark!
Your participation is needed and appreciated. Make it your priority to be part of a successful Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!
