As an experienced leader, who is passionate about the people and places of Tillamook County, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Tillamook County Commissioner Position #2. I look forward to the opportunity to serve and represent all areas of Tillamook County.
With both public and private sector experience, I have a proven history of developing collaborative relationships. As a former Tillamook County employee and a current member of the North Coast Regional Solutions Team, I have the skills to function well in government with regional and statewide experience.
I have held a number of appointed leadership positions throughout the county, including serving as the current Vice Chair of the Tillamook County Futures Council and as a former member of the Tillamook County Parks Advisory Committee.
I am a skilled facilitator with 20 years’ experience providing marketing, communications, strategic planning, and organizational development services. I have invested these skills in Tillamook County as a Ford Leadership Graduate and Community Ambassador, contributing to the development of new and emerging community leaders.
As a former small business owner and long time member of the Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I am committed to economic development and ensuring opportunities to grow our small businesses and foster the entrepreneurial spirit. And as a longtime supporter of the Neah-Kah-Nie schools, I am an advocate for education and opportunities for our youth.
Married to my husband Mike for 24 years, I am deeply committed to my family and my community. We have raised our three children in the Neah-Kah-Nie and Tillamook Adventist School communities. Tillamook County’s communities are diverse with unique personalities, yet we share a resilience; neighbors helping neighbors, pulling together in common need and celebrating collective successes.
I look forward to convening diverse perspectives to find solutions to tough issues, focusing on shared values, and ensuring opportunities for all citizens to participate and thrive. As County Commissioner, it would be my privilege to serve the people of Tillamook County and represent their interests well.
