CARE receives $4,400 to help those in need due to the recent storms

As Tillamook County’s local non-profit helping those in need, CARE is pleased to partner with US Bank and the Coliseum Theatre.  Donations of $3,000 and $1,400 respectively were made specifically to help those who are struggling to meet their needs due to impacts of the recent storms.

Already, CARE has assisted people who missed work due to the storms and were unable to pay their full rent, and people who were temporarily stranded away from their homes who needed shelter or paid for shelter and now needed assistance with their rent.  This storm had some unique challenges for some in trailers who were displaced and needed a new home to move their trailers to when the water receded.  Again, these funds were there to help.

“Tillamook County is amazingly generous with people coming forward to help.  CARE is pleased to be a place where people can give to help others,” said Erin Skaar, CARE’s Executive Director.

A small amount of funds remain available at CARE for those who are unable to meet their needs due to impacts of the recent storms.  CARE is located at 2310 First Street in Tillamook and is open 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday.  For more information, call 503-842-5261.
