Fulcrum Community Resources announces results of the Alternative Gift Market

Alternative Gift MarketOn a gray and rainy day, 36 shoppers contributed $5110 to local nonprofits and other worthy causes around the world at the 11th annual Alternative Gift Market held in Manzanita on 12/5/15.  Fulcrum Community Resources, whose mission is to further sustainability in north Tillamook County, is pleased that 80% of donations to the Market were designated to local organizations whose various missions contribute greatly to the well-being of north Oregon Coast residents.
Thank you to these shoppers and the many volunteers, about 25 individuals, who helped make this Market possible.   Volunteers were responsible organizing, creating publicity, distributing flyers, making signs, putting up signs, setting up, making soups, staffing international tables, cleaning up, and more.  Some jobs were easily done; others were more challenging and time-consuming.  Thank you for all help large and small.  Contributions of every volunteer and shopper contributed to the success of this year’s market.
And a special thank you to Manzanita businesses: Sunset Vacation Rentals who made copies of printed materials; Bread and Ocean who provided rolls for lunch; and Manzanita News and Espresso and North Fork 53 who provided soup.
“We look forward to another successful Market next year,” said organizer Barbara McLaughlin.
