Elizabeth Glaudin

ElizaGlaudinObitAfter a brief illness, Betty died peacefully at Seaside Providence Hospital with her husband, Vincent, and their four children, Cathy, Sandra, Linda and Jeffrey, at her bedside.  She also is survived by eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren,  loving in-laws and many dear friends.
Betty was an exceptionally perky, warm and caring person who was genuinely interested in everyone she met. She devoted herself to her family and “never met a stranger”.  In addition to her generous and loving nature, she was a courageous woman who met life challenges with inspirational spirit and grace.  Everyone loved Betty.
Betty was born and raised by Paul and Bessie (Goodman) Kalow in Faribault, MN where she graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. She then enrolled in a nursing program at St. Olaf College and at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Chicago where she met her husband who was a college student just discharged from the Navy. It was mutual love on the first date.  They married in 1948 and lived on the University of Illinois campus where Vincent attended graduate school and Betty began her primary career as a devoted mother.  In 1954 the young family joined the post-war migration to the west coast where they settled.
Betty enjoyed living in Lake Oswego for almost 50 years where she resumed her nursing career in mental health, and delighted in her family.  For the last twelve years, Betty came to love the small-town lifestyle of Manzanita and the beauty of Oregon’s north coast.
There will be a celebration of Betty’s life, held in Manzanita, in the spring- her favorite time of the year.
