The Lower Nehalem Watershed Council will welcome Tillamook District Forester Kate Skinner during their upcoming Speaker Series event on Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Skinner will discuss the status of updating Oregon Department of Forestry’s management plan, summer conditions in Coastal forests and other topics relating to forest management. The presentation will be held at the Pine Grove Community House, 225 Laneda Ave, Manzanita. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments. The presentation will start at 7:20 p.m. following an update from the Lower Nehalem Watershed Council.
Skinner is the Tillamook District Forester for Oregon Department of Forestry. She has worked in natural resource management for 25 years in Idaho, Alaska and Washington before coming to Oregon. Skinner has worked in Tillamook for 18 years in a variety of roles from timber sales to T&E surveys to long term planning. Skinner has a Bachelor of Science, Forest Management, from the University of Idaho.
