Croman leads Pirates with top-10 finish

Neah-Kah-Nie senior Julian Croman was the top local individual finisher in Saturday’s Regis/Stayton cross country invitational.

Julian Croman was Neah-Kah-Nie’s top finisher at the Regis/Stayton invitational Saturday, placing 10th overall.


He placed 10th overall with a time of 17:34.5.

His team placed 14th in the 23-team field with 367 points.

Dylan Mitchell placed 66th overall (19:50.0), ahead of BJ Dillard (99th, 20:46.4), Wade Becker (106th, 21:02.6), freshman Brady Haylett (137th, 22:21.5), Samuel Holm (142nd, 22:26.9) and Alec Winder (163rd, 24:14.1).

Roan Childress was the top finisher for the Lady Pirates in Saturday’s race, placing 46th in 25:05.5, while Lacoya Reny-Hamer came in 49th in a time of 25:10.2.

The Lady Pirates placed 11th in the team race with a total of 245 points. Iris Siegel (59th, 23:16.8), Nula Reid (67th, 26:52.0), Esma Sakalli (87th, 29:32.5), Kasey Purcell (91st, 38:12.0) and Linda Alfrippee (93rd, 38:17.2) were the rest of the runners to finish.
