Joann Noregaard passed away on February 20, 2015. Joann was born in Yakima on February 25, 1938. She moved to the Portland area when she was four years old.
She went to Jennings Lodge Elementary and Grant High School. After high school, she worked with a home designer. She met her husband, Ray at Delta Park in 1958. They married on June 20, 1959. Ray and Joann first lived in Southeast Portland in a one bedroom home, then in Wood Village, Happy Valley and finally to the coast. Joann was a homemaker and assisted Ray’s homebuilding career with bookkeeping and general office help.
Joann’s passions included travel (she travelled to Hawaii four times and took cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean), interior decorating, cooking, baking, entertaining Church groups, and animals, especially her springer spaniels.
Joann is survived by her husband, Ray Noregaard of Nehalem, daughters Cindy Mentze of Portland, Dolly Westover of Portland and Lori Randall of West Linn, son Dan Noregaard of Nehalem, sister Janice Plummer of Vancouver, Wash., and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chet and Eva Woerner.
A memorial service was held on February 26 at Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church.
