Pirates grab some all-league silver from football coaches

Max Halverson and Greg Elligsen made their final football season at Neah-Kah-Nie count, with both seniors earning all-Northwest League recognition.

The seniors made up for losing a shot at the all-league team during their junior seasons after the program cancelled its league schedule because of injuries.

Halverson was selected as the league’s first team running back. Elligsen was selected as the first team linebacker and the second-team running back.

But a pair of sophomores also made a big impression on the Northwest League coaches who made the all-league selections.

Tristan Bennett was selected as first team offensive lineman and first team defensive lineman. Tucker Champ was selected as second team offensive lineman and second team defensive lineman, according to Neah-Kah-Nie football coach Chris Bennett.
