Lady Pirates go on first three-game win streak with sweep of Nestucca

Neah-Kah-Nie became hot on the softball diamond in the last week, grabbing three straight wins over the
Nestucca.

The Pirates started witha 24-4 romp Tuesday, then added a 26-11 and an 18-7 to the win column Friday in
Cloverdale.

The victories brought the Neah-Kah-Nie record to 3-6 in Northwest League play
and 3-10 overall.

The three losses dropped the Lady Cats to 0-6 in league and 2-11 overall.
After hosting Gaston Tuesday, the Lady Pirates will travel to the Greyhounds’
kennel Friday for a doubleheader, then travel to Delphian May 3.
Nestucca will travel to Knappa Tuesday, then host the Lady Loggers in a Friday
doubleheader.

The Lady Cats will travel to Toledo Saturday for a noon non-league game.

The Bobcats will return to Northwest League play Tuesday when they travel to Gaston.

Vernonia leads the league with a perfect 12-0 mark and the Lady Loggers have a 15-1 record overall.

Knappa is second with a 7-2 league record, while Gaston is in third place with a 5-4 mark.
