Stop by NCRD at 36155 9th Street in Nehalem this Friday and Saturday April 22 & 23 to catch Lower Nehalem Community Trust at the EarthDay Eco Fair. We’ll host an information table both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and we’d love to tell you about what’s in store for 2016.
On Sunday, April 24, at 1 p.m. join our executive director Dale and Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve coordinator Chrissy Smith for an interpretive land & ocean conservation hike to Devil’s Cauldron in Oswald West State Park (about .25 miles easy). This is an all-ages hike and for those desiring more, the hike will continue on to Short Sands Beach via the Elk Flats Trail (about 3 miles moderate/difficult).
This FREE event is open to the public. There are no bathrooms or drinking water facilities on this hike. Bring water, snacks, and appropriate gear and clothing: weather can be unpredictable and trails muddy. Parking is limited at the Neahkahnie Mountain Trailhead on the west side of Highway 101. Check out Eventbrite for more information and to register in advance.
