Jamborees kick off NKN Football in Cloverdale

A quick change in location didn’t seem to phase Neah-Kah-Nie or Nestucca when  it came to the annual fall sports jamboree.

Originally scheduled to be held in Rockaway Beach, the jamboree was switched to Cloverdale just a few days ahead of time.
The jamboree brought out several hundred people to watch the volleyball, football and cross country teams get their first taste of the 2015 season.
For the football teams, it was a simple case of round-robin on one-half of the field with one of the Northwest League rivals, while two others did the same on the other half of the field. The teams would switch from offense to defense after less than 10 plays.
In the nearby gym, it was the girls volleyball teams going one-on-one with one of the rivals for a match, then rotating out and letting another team play.
All of the teams will get back to the regular play this week with non-league contests.
