Nov. 1,  1947 to Aug. 16, 2015
Longtime Manzanita businessperson and realtor Kay Covert passed away on Sunday August 16th at the age of 67. Covert was a strong outspoken supporter of Manzanita, a true cheerleader for the community.  She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her husband Walt and son Max.  The family will have a private service, and a community celebration will be planned at a later date.  Community members are asked to share their special memories of Kay with the North Coast Citizen.  Please send to Laura Swanson at lswanson@countrymedia.net.  See page 5 for “Memories of Kay” by Sherry Hasslacher.  She may be gone, but she will not be forgotten.
Walt suggested donations in Kay’s name be made to the ASPCA – American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® — One of Kay’s many projects was making sure the stray cats at the real estate office always had a full bowl of food. Donations can be made online at aspca.org in Kay’s name.
